Sea Haven (formerly Marina Heights) Residential Development - Upcoming

The Sea Haven (formerly Marina Heights) project is approximately a 248-acre site in the northern portion of the former Fort Ord Army Base. The homes at Sea Haven will offer a wide range of architectural styles, sizes and price ranges for buyers. The initial offering of residences at the first three neighborhoods are expected to be priced from the $500,000’s to the $800,000s.

Sea Haven’s first two builders, Fresno-based Wathen Castanos Homes and Sacramento-based Renasci Homes, will build and sell the initial offering of homes.

The first three neighborhoods at Sea Haven are:
 - LAYIA by Wathen Castanos Homes – Coming Summer 2017

The one-and two-story homes will range from 1,849 to 3,411 square feet with three to five bedrooms and two to three and a half baths. 

- LARKSPUR by Renasci Homes – Coming Summer 2017

 This collection of two-story homes will range from 1,141 to 1,908 square feet with two to four bedrooms and two and a half baths. 

- VILLOSA by Wathen Castanos Homes – Coming Summer 2017

This collection of one- and two-story homes will range from 2,380 to 3,411 square feet with three to seven bedrooms and two and a half to four baths.

Sea Haven removed 828 abandoned housing units that will be replaced with a combination of 1,050 new townhouse, cottage, and single-family residential housing units. The project will include 35 acres of parks, greenbelts, and open space. 

Project History
Cypress Marina Heights, LLC., the developer of the project made an application for the “Marina Heights Specific Plan” in October of 2002. The Environmental Impact Report was recommended for certification and the Planning Commission recommended approval of the Marina Heights project on October 30, 2003. The City Council approved General Plan amendments, a Specific Plan, a Tentative Map, Zoning Ordinance Text and Map amendments, and Final Development Agreement for the Marina Heights project on March 3, 2004.  

Project Schedule
Demolition of existing buildings began in August of 2005, and as of January 1, 2007, 164 of the 210 buildings have been abated and demolished. Grading and infrastructure improvements were completed in 2007. Demolition of all existing buildings was complete in Summer of 2016.
