Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.  On behalf of the men and women of the Marina Police Department we invite you to visit the City of Marina, a quaint seaside community along the central coast’s Monterey Peninsula.  I am privileged and honored to serve a community that is rich in culture and history.  It is a city in transition. The city, along with the Fort Ord Reuse Authority (FORA) has been involved in redeveloping the former Fort Ord lands deeded to the City when the base closed in 1994.

The city also includes the California State University, Monterey Bay campus, Monterey Peninsula College, the UCMBEST branch research center of the University of California Santa Cruz, Veterans Transition Center, Dunes regional shopping center, Sanctuary Resort and the Marina State Beach and Fort Ord Dunes State Park.

The Marina Police Department
is poised to grow with the city. Since being created as a police department when the Department of Public Safety was dissolved in 2007, the agency has expanded investigations, traffic and canine services; created a directed patrol unit, professional standards unit and introduced civilian officers to patrol and investigations services.

Our mission is to best serve the residents of our community.  The men and women of the Marina Police Department strive everyday to accomplish this mission. They are the most qualified, professional, and diverse police force who proudly serves this world class community.
